The Cottage
Here is a cottage that we stayed in recently at the Carneros Inn, a "retreat" in the Carneros Valley. It was a cold, foggy weekend, and the cottage was quite cozy. We didn’t stay long: I’d like to go back on a sunny weekend and tour around the area. There are several champagne wineries nearby.

feels warm and cozy when looking at your sketches. Hope the weather gets warmer soon in east coast too. Keep the good work!

Wonderful sketch, Martha! You make reality somehow MORE so…I’d love to be there right now.

Your cottage looks altogether inviting. Actually it reminds me of one I saw on a California trip a couple years ago. Half Moon Bay? Is that right? There were wonderful gardens around it.

I have just found this wonderful sketching blog! I love how much you share of your art life here and am very grateful to you. While my sketching is very much to influence my painting, I appreciate the work you are doing.
You have a beatutiful blog/web site, and I will return to learn all I can from you.
Have a Lovely Day!

What a picturesque little cottage. I love places like this. Lots of charm and I love your sketching of it.
I also loved my pen and ink classes last week….I put a blog entry about it for this past Monday. And now I’m enjoying the fun of sketching.

Charming cottage! I’ve never had a problem with fog keeping me from champagne. 🙂
