In the Neighborhood
A quick couple of sketches here. I made the first sketch while sitting in my parked car listening to Danny Gregory’s excellent podcast on sketching and sketchbooks. And then later in the day I sketched the fading white rose in my backyard.

Awesome!!! Wasn’t that hard to draw?

I also love to sketch faded flowers. They often seem to me even more beautiful as they curl and twist – like ballerina skirts or fabric blowing in the wind. I really enjoy your sketches. You are an inspiration!

I love the fullness and softness of both sketches. Lovely.

Speaking of doing a great job with “white”! Your rose is wonderful. And, I’ve been missing Berkeley so I love seeing the house.
Can’t believe I am not doing the Sketchcrawl with you today 🙁

You sketches are always so soft and cheerful (I really love the rose sketch too) and in know you use a small sketchbook, but they scan so clearly!May I ask what scanner do you use ?

Aren’t those podcasts wonderful to listen to while sketching! So inspiring! I especially like your rose. I think drawing fading or even dead roses can be so interesting and fun.
