In the Kitchen
As I drew this, my husband and friends were cooking dinner and I was sitting on the carpet in their living room watching the kitchen. Although the sketch makes the room look empty, it was actually packed with cooks and movement. And, we had a scrumptious meal!

oh yea. great sketch! I love the ‘from the floor perspective! and I too, leave out the people in my drawings…and congrats indeed on the comment from the great Tommy Kane!

What a beautiful old fashion kitchen You even have the tile counter and the paper towels on the wall. What a great observer you are. I chuckle thinking of you sitting in on the living room floor and drawing the kitchen while people walk around. Now that’s a dedicated artist.

Nice work on the kitchen. I think architectural subjects rank up there with figure drawing and portraits. Like figures, houses, kitchens, cathedrals, can be real tough to get with enough accuracy to be believable. I guess the best answer to the statement, “I don’t know what to draw,” is “look around you!”
PS By the way, per your instructions, I have successfully sewn coptic bindings for two Moleskine covers, one large, one pocket sized, and also repaired a journal whose binding was damaged. Great instructions, darned good fun! (Hope you got my email with photos!)
